Hi Cliff,<br>
<br>
It may very well work. It says it's intended use is for a PC so I
would try and set up your Myth system as using a microsoft (mce) IR
receiver and see what happens. After I set up mine, I edited my
button mappings for myth so I could use more of the advanced buttons
such as direct Video, Music, Recorded TV, Live TV and Pictures
buttons.<br>
Here is a quick youtube video I made of my system a little while
ago. In it, you can see the soft buttons I put in. I programmed them
as random key mappings such as Ctrl+h for example. I then updated
the button mappings in Myth frontend's setup to match.<br>

with the sole intention of using the ir receiver only for this
purpose. It was my impression that basically any ir receiver
would work. Perhaps I was mistaken? If you feel that I purchased
something that will not work, can you make a recommendation? And
also, would a ir keyboard be easier to program with the Harmony
remote? Just trying to decide what direction I need to go in to
make my Myth setup as functional as possible with a remote.
Thanks so much for your input.<br>

an ir receiver. That is what is most important. Your remote
doesn't really matter.<br>
For instance, I have a harmony remote as well but I use a
mceusb(or mceusb-vista, more commands to use) ir receiver.
So all I did was tell the harmony software I have a windows
media center and everything automatically worked.<br>

Let me know if you have additional questions.<br>

It is becoming increasingly evident that I need some
serious hand-holding in getting my Logitech Harmony
One setup and working with Mythbuntu. This is
essentially the last thing left on my setup list to
get my new Mythbuntu box up and running. I will try to
explain what I have done so far and what has and
hasn't worked. I am truly hoping this is much simpler
than it seems.<br>
<br>
I purchased <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-USB-Remote-Control-Mouse/dp/B001M56DI0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1317047209&sr=8-2"

using the ir receiver with my Harmony One. I have
tried to follow the steps outlined <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Logitech_Harmony_Generic_Setup"
target="_blank">here</a> as well as <a
moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Soundgraph_iMON_Antec_Veris_Mythbuntu_10.10"
target="_blank">here</a>, but when I run irw I get
nothing from the Harmony (I am currently using a
mythtv profile for the Harmony as the KnoppMyth
profile seemingly provided no commands at all). I have
programed the Harmony One through the Logitech
software by learning from the remote that came with
the ir receiver using the raw commands. The few
commands that I was able to teach my Harmony actually
show up in irw. Essentially that is the only commands
that have shown up from the Harmony and this remote
from Amazon doesn't really provide the necessary
functionality that I need to program the Harmony for
Mythtv use.<br>
<br>
I thought I could figure this out on my own, but I
think my frustration at this point may be hindering
any further progress. If there is more relevant
information that I can provide, I will be happy to as
I am ready to get this box going so I can dump my
$100/month satellite bill! Any help that you can offer
would be sincerely appreciated. </blockquote>
