 Hi,

 I had this same issue recently on a frontend (older Laptop running
 Kubuntu 11.04).

 I found changing the frontend "playback profile"
 (http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Playback_profiles) helped. Changed to CPU++
 from memory. It may have been an issue with libmpeg2 or XvMC??? It was
 only on HD channels.

 Thanks
