As discussed today in #ubuntu-mythtv-dev, here is the timeline that we have:
Today - Oct 14/15, archive is hard frozen : no more uploads to any packages.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is an outstanding ubiquity issue, but since we are building using ubiquity
on the PPA, i'll fix it after this time period but before ISOs are mastered.
Thursday/Friday Oct 18/19, upstream gutsy is released.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're not releasing the same day. We will however master our ISOs this day.
We're making our wiki home help.ubuntu.com in the same section as mythtv on
there. Any outstanding hardware support items need to be pulled from the forums
and information put up here. These pages should be good to go by Gutsy release.
Once this wiki page is ready, we need to move the weekly builds stuff to the
left side of the page where we normally have our admin panel. Put a wiki link
under where the weekly builds stuff used to be.
Saturday/Sunday Oct 20/21, other documentation items on mythbuntu.org ready.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We need the the following other items on site:
- System Requirements
- 7.10 Release Notes (as they are linkable from ubiquity and will be in our
announcement post)
- Support page needs to be updated
The syst requirements will sit right next to the wiki link where weekly builds
used to be.
Over the weekend all the mirrors need to be synced up and ready.
Monday/Tuesday Oct 22/23, announcement, install guide and screenshots
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We need to make sure that the install guide is ready to go. All screenshots
need to be uploaded and in the image section. We'll add a link to the install
guide right next to system requirements and wiki link. Install guide should be
both html and pdf format.
As soon as all of the other items are put into place, we need to update the
download page text, and then make the announcement.
Friday Oct 26, Open week in #ubuntu-classroom
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're wasting no time getting prepared to start Hardy work. Please have all
specs ready to go before the meeting in #ubuntu-classroom. We're going to be
recruiting devs at this point and talking about our cycle and what needs to be done.
November 5 - November 9, choose specs that will be targeted and try to split up
workload
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since a majority of the work has been put into place now, I imagine a majority
of the specs will end up being enhancement and bug fixing specs. At some point
this week we will have a big team meeting to decide who is working on what, and
what will for sure be happening during the hardy cycle.
The end of the cycle is near guys, lets have a good finish :)
