Hi, Thanks for reporting this bug.

Can you provide some more information about what packages weren't able
to be upgraded?

I would suspect this was because you didn't have universe or multiverse
enabled.  After the upgrade, try to type

sudo apt-get install mythtv

And post the output back here.
