Tried that before, but I don't switch environment often though. Furthermore I would like a clean installation. I plan to format that PC once Gusty release anyway, so I will wait. :)

Raymond,
No need to totally switch to KDE4. You can have whatever desktop you like in one system. Just install it and when login, you choose which desktop u like. I got gOS (xfe), Kubuntu (Kde4) and gnome. It just require about 250++MB more only on your Hard drive.
Remember, Linux is about freedom. my login desktop depend on my mood. some time kde, some time gnome.
I even have many distro install on virtual machine. So I would power up any distro depend on my mood. Again, Linux is choice of life.
Cheer up dude..........

Raymond Yip <raymoyip@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi Guys,
Last night I successfully installed KDE 4 to ubuntu 7.10. It is damn elegent. My own opinion is, it is on par or above MS windows Vista. The graphic is very clean. However I am very sleepy and have no time to explore more.
Additional information, I use it on VMware virtual machine install on MS XP host. One thing about Linux graphic is that it can only produce up to 24bit only compare to 32bit. I notice 32bit is sharper.
I also has Linux gOS desktop install on the same system. It is damn pretty also.
By the way, if you guys would like to find the installing step, just googling on the web. There are tonnes of howto guide.
