Hi all,

I use Maxis' 3G service via my trusty Sony Ericsson K800i.

I managed to make it work with Ubuntu 6.10 and
here is how:

Donwload and install KPPP. For some
reason the Gnome PPP Dialer doesn't work.

Run KPP then goto Configure. On the KPPP
Configuration Dialog Box, select the Accounts tab click New and select
the Manual Setup method.

Give it any Connection Name (e.g.
Maxis-3G)

Then click on the Add button and enter
the phone number as *99# (Nte I am using Maxis, so this is the number I
use).

Once you are back on the KPPP
Configuration Dialog box, select the Modems tab and click on New.

Give it a name (e.g. SEK800i) and on the
Modem device drop down box, select /dev/ttyACM0 then click on OK.

That's essentially abt it.

Now I can use my 3G connection on my laptop
and desktop easily.

Hope this helped.
