I am not a technicians and I am not familiar with this Diskless setup.
But I am curious, why would your friend want to implement this kind of
setup in a cyber-cafe?
In my opinion, cyber-cafe nowadays are more suitable to be called
gaming-cafe. If you friend's cyber-cafe's customers are mostly gamers,
this might not be a suitable setup for him. As far as I know Linux
doesn't support many games yet, even with WINE there might still be
flaws. Unless your friend's cyber-cafe are mainly doing
internet-browsing-service kind of services, this might cause a problem.
(Again thats what I understand about gaming on Linux)
Also, Your friend might not be the only one need to be trained, if this
setup doesn't support Windows-Linux integration, the customers may be
forced to use Ubuntu as well. This might scare some of them off. (on the
flip side...this might attract more users to Ubuntu).
I think a way to implement this is to "pilot" the implementation. Setup
a few PCs with this kind of setup and learn from there, see how it goes.
This will be a good chance to learn this kind of implementation if you
can do so.
Arrr enough with my crap...dinner time.
