[ubuntu-my] How to configure my monitor and display adapter in Ubuntu 6.10

Hi Nicolas,
             Thank you!  I already follow your guide and manage to change the monitor screen resolution.  However, in my gnome windows, the resolution still remain as it is.

your Xorg server. To do that, first backup your xorg.conf file by 
executing the following command:

   # sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup

text only mode):

   # sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop

You can do the whole X configuration process by executing:

   # sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Once you have re-configured Xorg, start GNOME again by executing this 
command:

   # sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start
