[ubuntu-my] How to configure my monitor and display adapter in Ubuntu 6.10

Hi all Ubuntu Gurus and Fans,
           May I know how to configure monitor model and display adapter in Ubuntu 6.10? I can't any GUI related to this in Gnome.  Please help!
