When I tried installing Flash Player, I received an error message
saying "no description found in plug-in database: please report to
Ubuntu" etc. And when I went from there to Synaptic Package to check, I
recieved the following error message:

run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. <br>
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.<br>

This suggestion produced no result...and as a consequence, I'm unable
to access Synaptic. What caused this and how can it be fixed???<br>
