Hi Sam, regarding your question about the weekend trip — I checked with the group and most people are fine leaving Friday afternoon instead of early morning. The cabin we booked has three bedrooms and a pullout couch, so sleeping arrangements should work for everyone. I think we should plan to stop for groceries about halfway there since the nearest store to the cabin is a bit far. Let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions I should add to the list. Also, I reserved the fire pit for Saturday evening and picked up some board games from my cousin. The weather forecast looks decent — a bit of rain possible Sunday morning but nothing that should ruin anything. I will send out a final packing list by Wednesday so people have time to prepare. If you want to carpool, let me know and I can coordinate groups.

About the potluck next Thursday — I think we should aim for a 6pm start so people can come after work. I will bring a big pasta dish and maybe a salad. Lisa offered to bring dessert and Tom said he would handle drinks. Let me know if you want me to assign specific categories so we do not end up with three trays of cookies and nothing else. The community room has a fridge and microwave so that helps. I reserved it from 5:30 to 9pm so we have time to set up and clean up. If anyone needs a power outlet for a slow cooker, there are two near the counter. I will put out a sign-up sheet by Tuesday evening. Let me know if you think we should also have a small activity or just keep it to food and conversation. Some folks mentioned they might bring board games which works too.
