Is the OpenSC daemon running correctly?

If the output is the following one:

$ systemctl status pcscd
○ pcscd.service - PC/SC Smart Card Daemon
     Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/pcscd.service; indirect; vendor preset: enabled)
     Active: inactive (dead) <=====
TriggeredBy: ○ pcscd.socket
       Docs: man:pcscd(8)

it needs to be restarted first:

$ systemctl restart pcscd
