Memo: Team Lunch Ideas for Next Week
From: Jamie, Office Coordinator
To: All Staff
Subject: Brainstorming for the weekly lunch rotation
Hi everyone,
Hope you're all having a productive week. As we plan for next week's team lunches, I wanted to open the floor for suggestions. The goal is to have a variety that caters to different preferences.
Mark from accounting mentioned he really enjoyed the Mediterranean platter we had a while back – the hummus and grilled vegetables were a hit. Sarah in marketing suggested we could try a build-your-own taco bar, which seems flexible and fun. She noted that having both corn and flour tortillas, along with a choice of proteins like seasoned chicken, black beans, and perhaps some grilled fish, would cover many bases.
On the topic of sides, remember that the potato salad from the local deli was popular, but we could also consider a quinoa salad with roasted vegetables for a lighter option. Let's also not forget about dressings and condiments; having a few choices like a creamy cilantro lime and a simple vinaigrette always helps.
For beverages, we should maintain the usual selection of sparkling water, iced tea, and coffee. Speaking of coffee, the discussion in the break room yesterday was about different brewing methods. Some prefer a stronger, more concentrated cup, while others like a milder blend. It's interesting how personal preference plays such a big role.
Regarding desserts, the fruit platter is a consistent winner, but the lemon bars from the bakery on 5th Street received great feedback last month. We could alternate to keep things interesting.
Please reply to this thread with your thoughts or any other cuisine ideas. The final decision will be made by Friday afternoon so orders can be placed. Thanks for your input!
Best,
Jamie
P.S. Don't forget the monthly staff meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 10 AM in the main conference room. We'll be reviewing the upcoming project timelines. If you have any topics to add to the agenda, please send them my way by Wednesday end of day.
Additional note for the facilities team: The thermostat in the south wing seems to be fluctuating again. A work order was submitted this morning. Hopefully it will be addressed before the weekend. In the meantime, maybe we can have a few fans available if needed.
I was reading an article about seasonal produce and how it affects menu planning. For instance, asparagus is coming into season soon, which could be a great side dish option – simply roasted with a bit of olive oil and salt. It pairs well with almost any main course. Also, strawberries should be at their peak, perfect for adding to salads or as a fresh dessert topping.
The book club is considering a new read for next month. The current suggestion is a historical fiction novel set in the early 20th century. If anyone is interested in joining, let me know and I'll add you to the distribution list. Meetings are usually the last Tuesday of the month during the lunch hour.
Finally, a reminder about the community volunteer day coming up next month. We are looking for participants to help at the local food bank. It's a great team-building activity and supports a wonderful cause. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board near the kitchen. Please consider joining if your schedule allows.
That's all for now. Looking forward to your lunch ideas.
