Ok, let's try to figure thing out. Please uninstall the snap, install
the deb and next time the snap is installed back please share the output
of

1. 
$ snap info firefox

2. the corresponding journal log ('-b 0' is the current system log, if you restarted since the snap refresh date from .1 then use '-b -<n>' where <n> is the number of restart since)
$ journalctl -b 0

3.
$ grep firefox /var/log/dpkg.log
(try the .1 variant of the log if there is no mention in the current one)

My guess is that unattended-upgrade or something is replacing your
firefox version by the '1:snap' version because is no feature in snapd
to 'install firefox automatically'
