It sounds like firefox is not doing hardware-accelerated video decoding.
Can you browse to about:support, copy the contents of the page and share them here?

Can you also browse to about:config, search for "vaapi" and verify that
the two matching options are set to true, then restart firefox (if you
had to change the values) and test again?
