Review of attachment 9223784:

I tested this on my slow mac and the CPU usage spikes up to 60%, with or without this patch.
Nonetheless, the UI changes to the progress bar are welcome as it brings consistency to the interface.

I'm not sure I like the current style of the progress bar.
The height is a bit too tall and the border + bg color + animation + progress color makes this little widget look a bit busy and over styled.
What do you think about:
- 4px height
- 2px border radius
- no border color

I'll see if I have any capacity later this week to investigate this and
see if I can find how to prevent the spike in CPU usage.
