Here's a simple way to replicate this bug for me. In both cases I have
the Light theme selected:

$ GTK_THEME="Adwaita:dark" firefox
(firefox runs and the Find box has white text on white background)

$ GTK_THEME="Adwaita:light" firefox
(firefox runs and the Find box has the correct black text on white background)
