Well, it depends on the details, and we're  never really  given them.
It's not entirely clear if he  broke up with Mamimi  or just stopped
talking to her and  got a  new girl friend, the latter I would
definitely call  discarding her.

Either way, it's clear Mamimi  *feels* discarded, or abandoned at  the
very  least.
