[Bug 1632893] [NEW] Thunderbird can't open emails in new tabs

Public bug reported:

With today's Thunderbird update in the Yakkety Archive, I can no longer
open new emails in different tabs. Here's a screenshot of what I get:

I installed the Thunderbird from ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-next and it
works fine, so this is not an issue of a library or something like that,
this is Thunderbird.
