I'm using Firefox 46.0+build5 on Ubuntu 16.04 and this bug just hit me
after many years of using the global dark theme (Adwaita + Humanity Dark
icons).
If I turn off the "Global Dark Theme" in Gnome tweak tool, everything is
back to normal in Firefox.
It seems to me that the bug is somewhere in
/usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.
Essentially, going to pages like this https://net-
ssh.github.io/scp/v1/api/classes/Net/SCP.html is completely unreadable.
If I highlight the invisible text, I'm able to see there is something
there whose color matches the background color!
In other words, it's not useful to mess with the default web page colors
to try to make the "dark" theme work 100% of the time across all kinds
of webpages. That's only 1 example of many places where this new theme
has broken functionality. Some forms present unreable or "invisible"
inputs!!
