[Bug 1490114] [NEW] address autocompletion not working anymore after upgrade to 38.2.0

SInce the upgrade of thunderbird 38.2.0 has been installed on my
systeme, I am unable to use email address autocompletion.

I verified my address books they are OK.
I verified i see address book entries in the sidebar of the new message windows.
I verified which address book is selection for autocompletion  in the autocompletion option. Even selecting all address books does not fix the problem.

symptom :
start a new message to write
go to To: field
start typing an address

nothing happens  the field is completely dead.

before upgrade the field did autocompletion.
