This bug is confirmed in

It causes a similar bug in Bootstrap:
https://github.com/twbs/bootstrap/issues/13748

The odd thing is I don't see any other browser than Firefox in Ubuntu 14.04 that returns true for:
("ontouchstart" in document.documentElement)
