[Bug 1255209] [NEW] Impartial download of IMAP mails leads to data loss

Public bug reported:

One of my mail accounts managed with thunderbird is unfortunately
provided by an MS-Outlook (IMAP) server. Icomming mails to this address
are not directly downloaded, but have to be manually dragged into the
"Local Folder" inbox to be downloaded. This is cumbersome, but works.
However, if the connection is slow and thunderbird is closed during the
download process, then the messages are downloaded completely empty,
e.g. with neither body nor header. Simulataneously the mails are deleted
on the web server. This means the incomplete mails are entirely lost.

I do not know whether this is possible, but for pop accounts one can
select the server settings "download messages immediately" and "leave
messages on the server for ... days". Such options would be really
favourable for IMAP accounts.
