I'm removing the duplicate status of this bug.

This bug is about Firefox and Thunderbird freezing after starting
successfully.

Bug #1142213 is about GTK applications including Emacs not starting at
all for which as fix has been found

** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1142213
   emacs23/24 GUI does not start when run in Kubuntu 13.04 with oxygen-gtk theme enabled
