I did
apport-collect 1110348
to add the missing Apport information.
My
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list
contains:
----------
[Default Applications]
application/turboprint-key=turboprint-control.desktop
text/html=chromium-browser.desktop
x-scheme-handler/http=chromium-browser.desktop
x-scheme-handler/https=chromium-browser.desktop
x-scheme-handler/about=chromium-browser.desktop
x-scheme-handler/unknown=chromium-browser.desktop
[Added Associations]
application/octet-stream=gedit.desktop;
----------
Everything seems to be switched to Chromium.
Your hint to mimeTypes.rdf brought me to look into the settings of
associations of file types to applications, Edit -> Preferences ->
Attachments. There I changed "Use firefox" to "Use Chromium Web Browser
(default)" for http. https, and HyperText Markup Language, resulting in
http: and https: links in e-Mails being opened in Chromium now, so I
have a workaround.
For FTP Chromium was not offered.
This needs to be fixed as changing the default browser needs manual
adjustments in addition to switch the browser in GNOME Control Center.
What needs to be fixed is the following:
- Thunderbird should not only offer Firefox and Chromium but also the "User's default browser" for FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, and HTML and have this selected by default
- Alternatively, GNOME Control Center should also adjust the settings in Thunderbird
