[Bug 1260405] [NEW] Keyboard input not working in Reply To Message dialog

Description:    Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS
Release:        12.04

thunderbird:
  Installed: 1:24.2.0+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1

Note: KDE desktop (kubuntu)!
kde-runtime:
  Installed: 4:4.8.5-0ubuntu0.2

For the first time I attempt to reply to a message after starting thunderbird, everything seems fine.
When I attept to reply to any further message the dialog pane will not accept keyboard input, or even display a caret, in the message text area or even any of the header input fields.
Restarting thunderbird appears to clear the problem.
