Thanks, I'm not so trained in filing bugs in such complex packages (read: my first) and still have no clue wether it's a packaging, upstream or indivdual case.. 
Though it should be solved, I really like OSS and Ubuntu; IMHO for every and each of such really annoying bugs fully breaking the email-client, 1 will report and 100 will leave forever..

Opened a bug upstream now, which was marked as a duplicate of an 1y unhandled problem under TB5 on Windows :p

Well, my TB works again, just killed/patched out the function (which
isn't a solution, I dont want to - on any update!), it may at least help
people running into the the same..
