Unfortunately it doesn't really make sense for us to optimize our
Bugzilla practices for the casual bug watcher audience (Bugzilla really
wasn't designed for that). Trying to track several different changes in
a single bug just doesn't work very well.

I suspect that many people on the CC list have since lost interest in
getting frequent updates, but those who want to track every step along
the way can still CC themselves to the new bug.
