The use of any browser in Ubuntu has become a nightmare.

Irregardless that the lastest Java JDK is installed I cannot running
anything in the browser that requires Java (Applets etc.)

I'm a Java Web Dev and I need to keep certain JDKs around for a while
w/o constantly downloading a new JDK every 1 week.

I run shorewall and NoScript when using FF.

I don't need the regular user protection.

I have been developing on the web for 15 years w/o a single incident of
malware, virus, trojan or other.

I can take care of myself.

The browser vs. Java incompatibility has become a nightmare affecting my
career.

This needs to stop.
