Err, no please - that bug is for SeaMonkey to decide whether or not to
follow this step, it's application specific and hence not intended for
Gecko discussions.

That was my point, the cause was the change in Fennec prompting bug
728610 in the first place, thus the need for this specific bug was the
consequence of that change, accelerated by Firefox following Fennec.
Thus, the cause/effect relation was upside down in your argumentation,
and the solution for Fennec might have been backing out their patch in
sync with bug 588909.

Anyway, I'm a bit confused why Fennec dominates the other Mozilla
applications in this way, but that would probably be more a discussion
for bug 588909.
