Hi Sahra unfortunally Ubuntu8.04 has in the desktop version reached End
Of Live long ago. Only the server variant will get support until April
of next year. firefox is properly not one of their objectives. And fixes
got rare for this verison.

Please run a system upgrade following:

especially in your case:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UpgradeNotes#From_8.04_LTS_to_10.04_LTS

In 3-4 days there wiill also be the upgrade to 12.04.1 LTS available
from 10.04.
