Good evening from Michigan, USA,
I have just had this problem happen this afternoon -- I had started a new installation of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (final beta / beta2). (I used a freshly downloaded and burned install CD that I had just downloaded and burned today, earlier this afternoon, also.)
I don't know what flash version was trying to install and apparently did
not succeed in installing correctly.
However I have a suggestion please -- as flash is certainly not
critical, why not make it a VERY last step... so much so that it is not
even installed until AFTER the new Ubuntu install has succeeded in
booting itself up from the install (i.e. target) media device first?
Thanks all! -Matt
