[Bug 847474] [NEW] Beta 1 fails to detect Intel 945gm card

Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 11.10  beta with latest updates fails to detect the video card
for my thinkpad t60.   For what its worth, a lspci does show the device.
I can log into Unity and it works OK, but the gnome 3 shell falls back.
