I think this was fixed with thunderbird - 7.0~b2+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu1:
"* Messagingmenu fixes:
    - Use the libunity5 ABI (LP: #839154) "
building against libunity5, which should already be present, means we don't need to additionally install libunity4.
