Thanks Jo, but how  to delete the U1 contact lists?

I cannot find any option to delete in evolution.  BTW "lists" is plural,
because I thought renaming it might get me out of trouble, but a new one
was automatically created,  so now I have two couchDB lists,  and double
the number of errors!
