The problem is that Ubuntu is my main web development platform.  The box
size set to 15 results in quite a bit of padding on the right side,
enough to mess up displays for FF on *Ubuntu only.  Chrome does not have
this problem running on *Ubuntu's

<input type="text"  size="15">

Problem exists for Releases 10.04, 10.10, 11.04 (this system) as well as
11.10
