[Bug 793838] [NEW] Minimize to Messaging Menu

Public bug reported:

The message indicator only works if Thunderbird is open or minimized. An
option to allow closing or minimizing Thunderbird to the Messaging Menu
would allow the messaging menu to run in the background and only alert
the user when new messages are received. I realize this is more of a
feature request than a bug report, but it seems to be the logical
function of the messaging menu, even if it hasn't been implemented yet
in any other email client.
