I have similar problem but I don't have to suspend computer. It happens
randomly, sometimes right after starting computer and Firefox, sometimes
after several hours. Every time restarting Firefox helps. I've noticed
that it highlights text just as long as Firefox has some "suggestions"
to textbox. If I've visited facebook.com and start typing "fac" pushing
right arrow from keyboard between letters to remove highlighting, it
keeps highlighting. But as soon as I type it wrong like "facw", it
doesn't highlight it anymore. The same goes to google search box.
