Hello Iain,
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I went to the page you mention using Firefox 5 and indeed I get no
audio; however I used Google Chrome as well and I get the same results
(i.e. no audio). Furthermore, I found this official audio tag demo from
Mozilla:
http://moztw.org/demo/audioplayer/
Both Firefox and Chrome are able to play the audio in that page without
problems.
You can also try this demo:
http://www.phoboslab.org/files/html5audio/
So I'd like to ask you:
1- Which browsers have you seen that are able to play the audio file you pointed to?
2- Might it be an audio format issue? It looks like Firefox only supports ogg format audio and apparently the audio file in the website you're looking at is mp3 format (specifically not supported by Firefox).
Thanks!
