[Bug 636811] [NEW] save as the screen goes dim and it either takes several minutes or the program crashes

This is probably the same as Bug #368197, but was told to report a new
bug.

Every time I attempt to save as using any of the above packages (plus a
few more), the screen goes dim and it either takes several minutes or
the program crashes. This has also happened in Google Chrome and F-spot
and a few more. It happens every time I try to save a file in a web
browser or any photo editing software and only sometimes in Open Office.

i expected to be able to save as, but instead my screen went black and
white, and my program crashes.
