I have tried to reproduce this using your steps on Ubuntu 10.10 Beta on
Chrome 7 and Firefox 3.6.10. I am able to give focus to the flash block
in both browsers before and after resizing. Is it possible to upgrade to
a new version of Firefox and see if it is fixed?  Also, do you know if
this is specific to Ubuntu? Finally, one more question: What version of
flash/flashplugin are you using?
