As mentioned in the previous comment, the suggestion was that the bug
was known and fixed in Thunderbird 3 tree.

Now that Thunderbird 3 (Lucid) has replaced Thunderbird 2 (Karmic) in
main Ubuntu release, there seems little point in keeping this bug
active.

Suggest bug is removed from the list of active bugs by janitor or next
bug clearout.
