It's a bug in Flash. Either Flash player/Shockwave plugin for Firefox, or the player in general (i.e.: standalone and plugin).
..there have been discussions and bug reports on this issue since last year!
We need to escalate the issue upwards to developers of Flash..at Adobe..FOSS players' developers..any.

It is very obvious when viewing an Arabic video on Youtube, like this one:

Screenshot attached for the post-video related videos announcements,
which shows the bug perfectly.

I use Firefox 3.6.10 on Ubuntu  10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx on a P4 machine.
Intel i386 Celeron 256 Cache - 1.5 GB RAM
