I get the following message at
javatester.org/version.html:  Browser has Java disabled.

and
a Firefox notification:  Additional plugins are required to
display all the media on this page.


The Plugin Finder
Service offers The IcedTea Web Browser Plugin.  I proceeded with the installation of the plugin.

After closing Firefox, and restarting Firefox, I get the following at javatester.org/version.html:  Java Version:
1.6.0_18 from Sun Microsystems Inc.

However, I still cannot play Yahoo!Games backgammon.  The response now
is just a status line (at the bottom status bar) 'Applet is loaded", but
nothing else happens.  Previously, there was a (reasonably useful)
message in the window stating the JRE was not found.

I did not try Power E*Trade Pro yet (but I am not very hopeful).
