[Bug 587247] [NEW] after closing and reopening netbook lid screen stays blank

Every so often when using my toshiba nb305 with ubuntu 10 I close and reopen the lid and the screen stays blank.
This seems to happen more often when I did not lock my screen prior to doing this. I'm forced to shut off the machine. The restart is painful (many times afterward the filesystem has to be repaired).
