As a workaround, try pressing Alt+F2 to bring up the Run dialog.

Type in firefox -ProfileManager and hit enter.

Now, you can create a new profile. Your old profile probably has some
issue with it. If you still get the problem with a new profile, please
let us know. I'm sorry that this isn't an actual fix to what caused your
bug but there isn't enough information here to know what caused the
problem.
