Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: thunderbird
Lucid seems to have introduced a new packaging convention for
Thunderbrd: Thunderbird system files are now located in a directory
named after the version of the software (i.e. /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.3
instead of /usr/lib/thunderbird). That means that a global extension
placed in /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.1/extensions are not found after the
update to /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.3.
In Karmic, extensions are installed in /usr/lib/thunderbird/extensions,
and updates are not a problem.
Please note that we manage 70 ubuntu workstations at our office, and we
would like to have a way to keep our customizations between updates of
the Mozilla applications.
** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
