Unfortunately it's not fixed it.

root at laptop:/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins# mv libflashplayer.so
libflashplayer.so.amd64
root at laptop:/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins# apt-get install flashplugin-installer
...
2010-03-15 21:44:07 (214 KB/s) - `./adobe-flashplugin_10.0.45.2.orig.tar.gz'
saved [4028753/4028753]

Download done.
Flash Plugin installed.

go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/ and pull on the lever to the left hand side
of the top icon bar (this should change the items like an old fashioned one
armed bandit) ...

no changes ...

I'm not sure if it helps, but I have an "nVidia Corporation G96 [GeForce
9600M GS]" (recommended driver 185 from the hardware drivers menu) graphic
card, I'm running in "normal" mode, my firefox is 3.5.8 and my OS is as
follows:

root at laptop:~# uname -a
Linux laptop 2.6.31-20-generic #57-Ubuntu SMP Mon Feb 8 09:02:26 UTC 2010
x86_64 GNU/Linux
root at laptop:~# file /sbin/init
/sbin/init: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV),
dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, stripped
