Sure, here are some more details.
1. Used to be Firefox 3.5.x. Now 3.6. This behavior occurs on both versions
2. Correct.

I recently found out that launching software management front-ends exhibits same behavior.
Is it because CouchDB is being launched in the background?

It's not a show stopper, just an annoyance, so please mark this bug as
low priority.
