Am glad there was a fix.
Every now and then I like to watch this video, so I really needed
the flash plugin to work.

rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/flashplugin-nonfree.prerm
dpkg --remove --force-remove-reinstreq flashplugin-nonfree
dpkg --purge --force-remove-reinstreq flashplugin-nonfree
Worked for me too with version 9.10
Thanks there was a really problem for me.
